INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE AUTHORS

Scope and editorial policy

The works submitted to Alcance, the Cuban Journal of Information and Communication, must comply with the Rules for Publication described in the Guidelines for Authors section. They describe that:
1. Only unpublished works with content of academic and social relevance are accepted.
2. The sending of articles is done through the website through the user profile of each author.
3. Authors should select the section of the journal for which they wish to submit their work.
4. Authors are required to grant ownership of copyright to Scope, Cuban Journal of Information and Communication.
5. Authors are responsible for recognizing and disclosing conflicts of interest related to the publication of their work.
6. The articles that do not comply with what is established in the previous points will not be submitted to the evaluation process.
7. Each article will be analyzed by the Editorial Board, as well as by a couple of Arbitrators (composed of experts in the subject matter addressed, both national and international) who will decide on its publication or rejection.
The editorial work of Alcance includes two fundamental stages governed by the collaboration rules of the publication and by the conceptual and thematic profiles of it.
Given the refereed nature of the journal, the first part is the reception of the works by the section coordinators, the most responsible and intermediaries among the authors, the arbitrators committee and the editorial direction of the journal; while in a second moment it is passed to the exchange with the authors in order to attend to the most general suggestions by the publication's advisory council, and especially those that condition the publication of their work in the journal.
In this sense, each member of the editorial board knows their functions and their position in the organizational structure of the publication.
