Apuntes acerca de la enseñanza del Idioma Inglés en las Escuelas de Medicina en Cuba

El dominio del idioma inglés por parte del personal médico cubano ha constituido una preocupación constante de la política educacional para las escuelas de Medicina en Cuba como se evidencia por el análisis documental que aquí se ofrece. La impartición de la disciplina inglés ha ido evolucionando y sufriendo cambios según se han perfeccionado los planes de estudio de las carreras de Medicina, Licenciatura en Enfermería y Estomatología. El presente trabajo brinda una breve reseña histórica acerca de los caminos que hubo que transitar la enseñanza de esta disciplina que cuenta ya con una tradición que debe mantenerse y fomentarse por sus protagonistas que en última instancia son los profesores de inglés que conjuntamente con los alumnos están llamados a seguir enriqueciendo las raíces históricas de la profesión

The mastering od the English language by all the cuban medical staff has allways been a goal to reach in Medical Schools in Cuba as the work presented here in shows. The teaching of the English language has developed new syllabuses according to the different carreers studied like Medicine, Nursery and Dentristry. This work offers a brief historical review about the rodas taken through the years. This discipline has strong tradition that should be kept by the teachers of English and the students who should continue enriching the historical roots of the profession

La Ética de las virtudes de Aristóteles y su desarrollo en la Bioética

El presente trabajo constituye un acercamiento a la ética de las virtudes de Aristóteles con la intención de ofrecer un itinerario revelador del comportamiento de sus ideas bases en el devenir del pensar bioético. El objetivo rector para el abordaje del tema permitió penetrar el sistema teórico Aristotélico basado en las virtudes, identificando los procesos de transformación, replanteo y metamorfosis que en el mundo del pensar bioético tales presupuestos han tenido desde diferentes propuestas de interpretaciones en otros pensadores hasta la actualidad

The present work constitutes an approach to the ethics of Aristotle´s vitues with the intention of offering a developing itinerary of the behavior of his ideas in the future of the bioethic way of thinking. The main objective to talk about this topic allowed the Aristotelian theoretical system based on the virtues to penetrate, identifying the transformation processes, and metamorphosis that in the world of bioethics way of thinking such budgets have had from different proposals of interpretations in other thinkers until the present time

Una aproximación teórica a la relación entre los trastornos neuróticos y los valores ético-morales

El autor comienza argumentando la importancia del tema, primero en términos de su repercusión para la calidad de vida de los pacientes que la portan y luego desde el punto de vista económico. Partiendo de los conceptos de neurosis, socialización, actitudes neurotizantes, valor ético-moral, zona o dominio axiológico y adaptación, plantea que existe un nexo esencial entre los trastornos neuróticos y el proceso de formación de valores, y que los antivalores que juegan un papel esencial en la génesis y mantenimiento de la patología analizada, son los pertenecientes al dominio de los valores ético-morales. Continúa planteando que el paciente con trastorno neurótico no presenta afectaciones inadaptativas en todas sus actitudes, sino solamente en algunas de ellas, pero que resultan muy significativas para su adaptación social. Continúa argumentando que existe una gradación, sin frontera definida, entre el valor y el antivalor ético-moral, y que, el paciente neurótico es portador de antivalores que tienen la suficiente magnitud como para impedirle la adaptación efectiva al medio social, y esto los convierte en sufridores crónicos. Termina exponiendo a manera de hipótesis la relación existente entre los trastornos neuróticos y específicos valores y antivalores ético-morales como son: la asertividad, la seguridad en uno mismo, el complejo axiológico aceptación, no - aceptación, la flexibilidad, y los relacionados con el sentido de la vida

The autor begings arguing about the importante of the topic, first in terms of its repercussion for the quqlity of the patiens´ life that suffers from it and then from the economic point of view. Taking the concept of neurosis, socialization, neurotic ttitudes, ethical moral value, axiologic area and adaptation, the author outlines that an assencial nexus exists between the neurotic dysfuntions and the process of formatio of values, and that the antivlues that play an essential role in the genesis and maintenance of the analyzed pathology, are those belonging to the area of the ethical moral values. It continues outlining that the patient with neurotic dysfunction doesn´t present inafaptative affectations in all the attitudes, but only in some of them, but that they are very significant for her social adaptation. It continues arguing that a gradation exists, without defined frontier, between the value and the ethical moral antivalue and that, the neurotic patient has antivalues himself that have enough magnitude like to obstruct the efective adaptation to the social enviroment , and this transforms them into chronic sufferes. It finishes exposing as an hypothesis the existing relationship between the neurotic dysfuntions and specific values and ethical moral antivalues as they are: the assertiveness, the security in oneself, the axiological complex acceptance-not acceptance, the flexibility, and those related to the sence of life

Acerca del sistema de valores ético morales en los futuros estomatólogos

Se realizó un estudio transversal y descriptivo cuyo universo estuvo constituido por los Alumnos de 1ro y 4to año de la carrera de Estomatología en el período comprendido de Octubre 1998 a Marzo de 1999. Con los objetivos de evaluar la información que tienen los estudiantes en cuanto a componentes que integran el sistema de valores, además de la valoración sobre como influirá el sistema de valores ético-morales en su futura profesión comparado los resultados obtenidos entre los alumnos de 1ro y 4to año de la especialidades. Se recopiló la valoración de los estudiantes acerca de la influencia que para sus vidas como futuros profesionales tienen algunos componentes del sistema de valores ético-morales mediante la encuesta autovalorativa de Dembo Rubisteins adecuada para este fin. La información se obtuvo cuando el alumno marcó los elementos componentes del valor analizado. Los valores seleccionados fueron: Responsabilidad, Valentía, Honestidad, Dignidad, Sensibilidad, Solidaridad, Cortesía, Modestia, Laboriosidad. La responsabilidad obtuvo la media aritmética más alta en los grupos estudiados. Al comparar los resultados de la valoración los alumnos de 1er año obtuvieron mejores resultados. En cuanto a la información que poseen los estudiantes respecto a los componentes de los valores enunciados predominó la evaluación de regular para ambos grupos de estudio

A traverse and descriptive study was carried out. Tehe universe wsa constituted by the students of 1 st and 4 th year of the dentistry in a period of time rating from October 1998 to March 1999. With the ohjectives of evaluating the informatiom the student have about the components that integrate the system of values, besides the valuation about how it will influence the system of ethical-moral values in their future profession. The results obtained were compared between the students of 1 st and 4 th year of the speciality. The valuation on how some components of the system of ethical-moral values influence the students´life was gathered. The method applied was the Dembo Rubinsteins selfvalorative survey. Tha information was obtained when the students marked the component elements of the analyzed value. The selected values were: Responsability, Courage, Honesty, Dignity, Sensibility, Solidarity, Courtesy, Modesty. Responsability obtained the highest arithmetic stocking obtained better results. As for the information that the students possess regarding the components of the enunciated values the evaluation given was fair for both study groups

Los valores ético profesionales del médico. Su diagnóstico

Con el propósito de diagnosticar la interiorización de los valores éticos profesionales a los alumnos de medicina seleccionados, se realiza esta investigación descriptiva causal. Para ello se determina el Sistema de Valores Éticos de la profesión médica en Camagüey, luego de un estudio profundo de los Códigos de Ética Médica Internacionales y Nacionales y la utilización de diferentes métodos y procedimientos propios de las investigaciones psicológicas y pedagógicas, éstos últimos apoyaron también la realización del diagnóstico de la situación actual de los estudiantes, donde se evidencia una diferencia notoria entre la auto evaluación y la co-evaluación siendo necesario acercar estos criterios. Valores como responsabilidad, profesionalidad, ser culto, internacionalismo y honestidad tienen dificultades en su asimilación. Queda demostrado que la metodología empleada es factible de ser utilizada para el diagnóstico al responder los resultados con las expectativas

With the purpose of diagnostic the ins and outs of the ethical professional values to the selected medicine students this descriptive investigation was carried out. With that purpose the System of Ethical Values of the medical profession in Camaguey was set after a deep study of the International and National Codes of medical Ethics and the use of different methods and procedures of psychological and pedagogic investigations, these also supported the doing of the diagnosis of the current situation of the students, where a notorius difference is evidenced between the self evaluation and the coevaluation being necessary to bring near these approaches. Values as responsability, internacionalism and honesty have difficulties to be cultivated. It is demostrated that the used methodology is feasible of being used for the diagnosis when responding the resultswith expectations
