Se trata la posibilidad de utilización de las nuevas tecnologías y en especial la Tomografía Axial Computarizada (CT) utilizando como herramienta modeladora el Método de los Elementos Finitos (MEF) para la generación de volúmenes 3D que puedan ser empleados en la obtención de modelos mecano-biológicos aplicables a afecciones ortopédicas.

This work deals about the possibility of using new technologies and especially the Computed Tomography (CT) using shaper tool as the Finite Element Method (FEM) to generate 3D volumes that can be employed in obtaining it mechanical-biological models applicable to orthopedic conditions.

Long-term treatment of ST-segment elevation acute myocardial infarction: an update

El infarto agudo de miocardio con elevación del segmento ST comporta altísimos índices de mortalidad. En la bibliografía al respecto se hace especial énfasis en las circunstancias que rodean a la fase aguda del evento y se le resta importancia a la conducta posterior o a largo plazo, período en el cual se documenta un considerable porcentaje de muertes por complicaciones derivadas del infarto. En la presente revisión se analiza la conducta ulterior que se debe tener en cuenta para el seguimiento correcto del paciente con infarto agudo del miocardio con elevación del segmento ST.

Acute myocardial infarction with ST-segment elevation has an extremely high mortality rate. The literature about the subject makes special emphasis on the circumstances surrounding the acute stage of the event, and not much importance is awarded to the subsequent long-term behavior, a period when a considerable number of deaths have been reported due to complications deriving from the infarction. In the present review a description is provided of the appropriate follow-up management of patients with ST-segment elevation acute myocardial infarction.
