Se comparan, entre otros indicadores, el tamaño y la calidad de los ficheros que se obtienen como resultado del trabajo con el procesador mencionado, a partir de la utilización de diferentes editores de textos disponibles en Cuba.<hr/>Selecting of a Word Processor for the Electronic Publishing of the Revista Cubana de Plantas Medicinales The experiences gained during the process of selecting an efficient word processing or desktop publishing for the electroning publishing of the Revista Cubana de Plantas Medicinales, that is published in the same way with the support of the software Adobe Acrobat are exposed. Among other indicators, the size and quality of files obtained as a result of the work with the above mentioned word processing is compared by the use of desktop publishing available in Cuba. http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S1024-94351997000100004&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en Se analiza el comportamiento de la producción de trabajos científicos de la provincia de Matanzas publicados en 24 revistas médicas nacionales cubanas durante el período comprendido entre 1980 y 1994. Se revisaron las tablas de contenido de las revistas y se localizaron los trabajos elaborados por médicos y personal paramédico en ejercicio en distintas unidades de la provincia. En esos 15 años se publicaron 142 trabajos de autores matanceros. Mientras que entre 1980 y 1988 se publicaron 129, en el período 1989-1994 sólo aparecieron 13 artículos de autores radicados en dicha provincia. Se comprobó que los hospitales fueron las unidades que más publicaron, las especialidades de cardiología y ginecología y obstetricia las que más trabajos aportaron y que el promedio de tres autores por artículo fue el que predominó.<hr/>Publications of Authors from Matanzas Province in the National Medical Journals between 1980 and 1994 The production behavior of scientific papers from Matanzas, published in 24 Cuban national medical journals during the term from 1980 to 1994 is analized. The charts of contents of the journals were reviewed and the papers conducted by physicians and paramedic staff that practice in separate units of the province were localized. In 15 years, 142 papers of Matanzas authors were published, and within the 1980-1988 period, they were able to do so 129 times, while in the 1989- 1994 period there were only published 13 articles.
