Process mapping of Pinar del Río University of Medical Sciences

RESUMEN Con el objetivo de elaborar el mapa de procesos de la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Pinar del Río, se realizaron revisiones documentales, reuniones y entrevistas a directivos, responsables de carreras, departamentos, asignaturas, programas y jefes de servicio para identificar los procesos realizados, que se clasificaron en estratégicos, sustantivos y de apoyo. Se informó a la dirección y a los trabajadores de todo el proceso. En el nivel estratégico se incluyeron seis procesos claves, en el sustantivo once y en el apoyo de diez. Se obtuvo un mapa de procesos consensuado que contó con la aprobación de la dirección y de los trabajadores como paso previo para el establecimiento de un sistema de gestión de procesos como mejora de la gestión en la organización.

ABSTRACT In order to develop the process mapping of Pinar del Río University of Medical Sciences, documentary reviews, meetings and interviews to executives, to the heads of university studies, departments, subjects, programs and heads of the services were conducted to identify the processes completed, these were classified as strategic, substantive and supportive. Managers and workers were informed about the entire process. At the strategic level six key processes were included, along with eleven in the substantive and ten ones in the supportive. A consensus process mapping was obtained, which was approved by the managers and workers as a preliminary step for the establishment of management system to improve the processes within the organization.
