Motivos para pensar en una propuesta sobre la Evolución Histórica de la Medicina en el Puerto Príncipe

Se realizó un estudio analítico descriptivo en abril del 2003 de la investigación titulada: Evolución histórica de la medicina en Puerto Príncipe, finalizada en 1997. Dicho estudio permitió evaluar, por un lado, las subhistorias que estructuran a la misma y que la acercan a ser un reflejo documental de la manera en que se fraguaron los rasgos de la profesión médica en el Príncipe Colonial, y por el otro, las narraciones que desdibujan dicha fragua. Ambos lados enriquecen los instrumentos didácticos que cumplen con el objetivo de enseñar una HISTORIA DE LA MEDICINA, con fuertes visos de localidad en la Universidad Médica del Camagüey

A descriptive analytic study was carried out in April 2003 on the investigation: Historical evolution of the medicine in Puerto Principe. This study allowed to evaluated, on one hand, the side histories that structure and bring it near to be a documental reflection in the way the features of the medical profession were forged in the Colonial Puerto Principe, and on the other hand the narrations that blacken this forge. Both sides enrich the didactic instruments that fulfill the objective of teaching a History of Medicine, with strong town slips in the Medical University in Camagüey

The policy of Cuban Health and social values by the light of the studies on science, technology and society. The work proposes an argument that highlights the relationship science-technology-society and development, in the policy of health of Cuba. It is to deepen in some topics proposed in the book by Feinsilver Curing the masses. The policy of Cuban Health in and abroad, that can be evaluated in a different way, allowing to discover political factors and inherent cultural condictions to the development of the Cuban activity in Health. The objective to find the specifities of the Cuban success in health with the help of the Science- technology- society approach. As a conclusion we can say Cuban policy on health is generating opportunities to stablish a dynamic alternative of the exploration of knowledge in health, nearer to the necessities and the contextual social values

Reflexiones éticas sobre una aplicación científico-médica de actualidad: la distracción osteogénica

Un aspecto importante del progreso científico es el experimento. Por lo tanto, las ciencias médicas tienen que apoyarse en este para incorporar nuevas tecnologías, diagnósticas y terapéuticas a la práctica clínica; validando su seguridad y eficacia en animales y seres humanos. La ética de la experimentación con seres humanos no es sólo una de las áreas fundamentales de la bioética, sino también una de las problemáticas que le dieron origen. Se describen en este trabajo algunas implicaciones éticas y aspectos sociales de la experimentación en seres humanos, particularmente en el marco de la incorporación de una tecnología de punta como es la distracción osteogénica en la cirugía maxilofacial, para la reconstrucción de defectos combinados en tejidos duros y blandos; se analizan el origen y evolución de la bioética, los aspectos regulatorios para la realización de ensayos clínicos y su valoración moral, los tipos de experimentación; la realidad mundial y cubana en cuanto a investigación clínica y tecnología y el consentimiento informado. Se concluye que el criterio ético fundamental de las investigaciones en seres humanos es su disposición al servicio del hombre como fin y nunca como medio

An important aspect of the scientific progress is the experiment. Therefore, the medical sciences have to lean on this to incorporate new technologies, diagnostic and therapeutic to the clinical practice; validating their security and effectiveness in animals and human beings. The ethics of the experimentation with human being is not only one of the fundamental areas of bioethics, but also one of the problems that brought about its origin. Some ethical implications and social aspects of the experimentation in human beings are described in this work, particularly while talking about the incorporation of a high technology in the ostegenic distraction in maxilofacial surgery for the reconstruction of defects combined in hard and soft fabrics; the origin and evolution of bioethics are analysed, the regulatory aspects for the realization of clinical rehearsals and their moral valuation, the experimentation types; the world and Cuban reality as for clinical investigation and technology and the informed consent. As a conclusion it is said that the fundamental ethical approach of the investigations in human beings is its disposition to the man's service as a goal and never as a way

Metanálisis para la evaluación de los modelos y procedimientos estadísticos empleados en los ensayos clínicos

Se realizó un metanálisis con el objetivo de revisar todas las investigaciones realizadas en las diferentes ediciones de la Maestría de Medicina Natural y Tradicional de nuestra Universidad Médica Carlos J Finlay constituyendo nuestro universo 84 ensayos clínicos los cuales fueron objeto de revisión. El procedimiento metanalítico que utilizamos es el Diagnostic Tests para aglomerar los resultados de los estudios primarios, los datos recogidos de las variables se analizaron teniendo en cuenta las normas establecidas para la conducción de un ensayo clínico aleatorizado. En los primeros ensayos revisados no es tratado correctamente el planteamiento del problema destacándose negativamente la definición del problema objeto de estudio. Existe un adecuado uso de la Bibliografía. En el material y método encontramos problema en: tratamiento y descripción de eventos adversos, enmascaramiento del ensayo, y dosis/respuesta. En la totalidad se da salida a los objetivos en el análisis e interpretación de los resultados y en las conclusiones. Al calcular OR la mayoría alcanzó en la evaluación de los modelos y procedimientos estadísticos criterios de inclusión

A meta analysis was carried out with the objective of revising all the investigations carried out in the different editions of the Master's in degree Natural and Traditional Medicine in Medical University Carlos J. Finlay constituting our universe 84 clinical research which were revised. The procedure applied was the Diagnostic test put together the results of the primary studies, the data of the variables were analysed keeping in mind the established norms for the conduction of a randomised clinical research. In the first revised research the position of the problem is not treated correctly standing out the definition of the problem object of study negatively. An appropriate use of the Bibliography exists. In the material and method we find problem in: treatment and description of adverse events, although the tests were not clear enough the objectives are completely fulfilled in the analysis and interpretation of the results and in the conclusions. When calculating OR most it reached in the evaluation of the models and statistical procedures inclusion approaches

El Sentido de la Vida

Luego de hablar de la importancia tanto teórica como práctica del tema, el autor plantea que en la presente investigación no asume el termino vida en su expresión biológica sino como estar en el mundo por lo que define que con el término sentido de la vida se referirá a la razón del estar en el mundo de individuos concretos. Más adelante conceptualiza sentido de la vida desde las perspectivas filosófica y psicológica y habla de los factores biológicos, psicológicos y sociales que participan en su conformación. Continúa definiendo el encuentro con uno mismo como la confluencia de factores biológicos, psicológicos y sociales que contribuyen a la conformación de un sentido de la vida correcto desde el punto de vista ético-moral, en un individuo interesado en aprovechar esa confluencia, lo cual no es más que el logro por parte del individuo de una orientación con relación a él mismo como ser bio-psico-social. El autor plantea que todos los individuos no tienen un sentido de la vida, unos porque no llegan a alcanzarlo mientras que otros lo alcanzan, pero lo pierden, y argumenta que esto se debe a que para que el sentido de la vida se forme, los factores favorables que participan en su conformación deben confluir en un individuo interesado en aprovechar esa confluencia. Continúa planteando que la voluntad juega su papel en la formación del sentido de la vida, pero condicionada y determinada por múltiples factores. Continua exponiendo la relación existente entre el sentido de la vida y la categoría sistema. Mas adelante expone la relación existente entre la categoría analizada y las de bien y valor. Termina exponiendo algunas características del sentido de la vida que deben evitarse en los profesionales de la salud

After speaking of the importance so much theoretical as practice of the topic, the author outlines that in the present investigation it doesn't assume the I finish life in his biological expression but I eat "to be in the world" for what defines that with the term "sense of the life" he will refer to the reason of being in the world of concrete individuals. Later on it conceptualizes sense of the life from the philosophical and psychological perspectives and he/she speaks of the biological, psychological and social factors that participate in their conformation. It continues defining the encounter with oneself as the fork of biological, psychological and social factors that you/they contribute to the conformation of a sense of the correct life from the ethical-moral point of view, in an individual interested in taking advantage of that fork, that which is not more than the achievement on the part of the individual of an orientation with relationship to him same as being bio-psico-social. The author outlines that all the individuals don't make a sense of the life, some because they don't end up reaching it while others reach it, but they lose it, and he argues that this is due to that so that the sense of the life is formed, the favorable factors that participate in its conformation should converge in an individual interested in taking advantage of that fork. It continues outlining that the will plays its paper in the formation of the sense of the life, but conditioned and determined by multiple factors. Continuous exposing the existent relationship between the sense of the life and the category system. But it advances it exposes the existent relationship between the analyzed category and those of "well" and "value". it Finishes exposing some characteristics of the sense of the life that should be avoided in the professionals of the health

Estrategias para definir las acciones de salud de los equipos disciplinarios

El enfoque social de la salud exige la incorporación de las Ciencias Psicológicas y su aplicación profesional en el conjunto de disciplinas que se integran a la concepción y la práctica de la salud pública. La Psicología de la Salud es la disciplina que se adapta a estos requerimientos. Dentro de la Psicología de la Salud un pilar importante lo constituye la atención al enfermo crónico. Estas autoras basadas en sus años de experiencia en la labor con el paciente con Retinosis Pigmentaria establecen las estrategias que deben pautarse en las acciones del Psicólogo que pertenece al equipo multidisciplinario que se encarga de la atención a este paciente. Perfiladas las acciones hacia la etapa infanto -juvenil del desarrollo humano, busca las acciones fundamentales que minimizan el establecimiento de alteraciones psíquicas en este individuo, propiciando el mejoramiento de su calidad de vida. Estas estrategias persiguen además, optimizar la calidad en los servicios que prestan estas instituciones establecidas a lo largo de nuestro país

The social focus of the health demands the incorporation of the Psychological Sciences and its professional application in the group of disciplines that you/they are integrated to the conception and the practice of the public health. The Psychology of the Health is the discipline that adapts to these requirements. Inside the Psychology of the Health an important pillar constitutes it the attention to the chronic sick person. These authors based on their years of experience in the work with the patient with Retinosis would Pigment the strategies that should be averaged in the Psychologist's actions that it belongs to the multidisciplinary team that takes charge from the attention to this patient settle down. Profiled the actions toward the stage infanto - juvenile of the human development, it looks for the fundamental actions that minimize the establishment of psychic alterations in this individual, propitiating the improvement of their quality of life. These strategies also pursue, to optimize the quality in the services that you/they lend these established institutions along our country

Lenguaje, comunicación y familia

La evolución del pensamiento, la realidad sociocultural actual y su interdependencia con el lenguaje abren paso a nuevas y sugestivas perspectivas de observación y explicación de los hechos del lenguaje. Por su parte, la familia como microsistema natural, en constante interacción con el medio cultural cuyos integrantes interactúan como microgrupo en un entorno condicionado por factores sociales, biológicos y psicológicos, es un sistema dinámico, evolutivo, susceptible de continuas transformaciones y por ende constituye el marco referencial idóneo en la formación de las nuevas generaciones en tanto es responsable de formar patrones de cultura y fomentar el desarrollo del lenguaje como expresión y símbolo de identidad cultural. Este trabajo ofrece algunas consideraciones acerca del lenguaje, la función de la familia y la teoría de la comunicación desde una perspectiva social que abarca medios de comunicación verbal y no verbal, todo lo cual resulta de gran valor teórico para educadores, sociólogos, lingüistas y trabajadores sociales

Summary The evolution process of thought, the sociocultural environment and their interdependence with language lead to new and appealing perspectives of observation and explanation of language facts. On the other hand, the family as a natural microsystem that is constantly interacting with the milieu and whose members behave as a microgroup in an environment influenced by social, biological and psychological factors is a dynamic system in evolution, which is subject to continuous transformations. Accordingly, the family constitutes the suitable framework in the formation of new generations as it promotes sociocultural patterns and the development of language both as means of communication and as a symbol of cultural identity. The present paper provides several considerations in regards to these three intermingled phenomena: language, the role of the family and the communication theory from a social standpoint that encompasses verbal and non-verbal communication. All of them constitute a valuable theoretical tool for teachers, sociologists, linguists and social workers

Promoción de Salud: Un camino para la Estomatología del futuro

En el presente trabajo se hace una reflexión sobre el papel de la promoción de salud como camino para la Estomatología del futuro. El propósito es actualizar y profundizar en estos aspectos. Se destaca la labor del estomatólogo del futuro con interés fundamental en el diálogo con la sociedad como un todo y capacidad técnica para educar a la población en aspectos de la salud Estomatológica de manera que consiga salud para todos mediante la capacitación a la comunidad para modificar estilos de vida que conducen a la prevención de enfermedades, favoreciendo el desarrollo personal y social de habilidades para que la comunidad ejerza un mayor control de su salud

Presently work is made a reflection on the paper of the promotion of health like road for the Estomatología of the future. The purpose is to upgrade and to deepen in these aspects. He/she stands out the work of the estomatólogo of the future with fundamental interest in the dialogue with the society like an everything and technical capacity to educate the population in aspects of the health Estomatológica so that it gets health for all by means of the training to the community to modify lifestyles that drive to the prevention of illnesses, favoring the personal and social development of abilities so that the community exercises a bigger control of its health
