^les^aCuando se hojea el libro interminable de la historia y se leen en él la vida y los actos de personas con grandes merecimientos por su constancia y laboriosidad, causa grata admiración la estela luminosa que estas dejan tras de sí. Ejemplos hay en abundancia de seres que a través del tiempo han obtenido logros de memoria imperecedera con los que han conquistado la gloria. Empero, es triste hojear ese libro cuando se trata de alguien muy cercano que también merece pasar a la posteridad y en cuya lectura se llega a la primera página en blanco tras el repaso de numerosas páginas escritas. La muerte reciente del doctor José López Sánchez ha dejado el más glacial de los vacíos en sus colegas y discípulos y la pena de una pérdida tan irreparable como sensible en las instituciones a las que perteneció. Bajo el peso de la dolorosa impresión que ha causado su deceso, se trata en este trabajo de lograr un acercamiento a su trayectoria como publicista y bibliógrafo y sus aportes, como un modesto homenaje a su memoria desde la perspectiva de las ciencias de la información.^len^aWhen one glances through the endless book of history and reads about the lives and actions of persons with great merits for their perseverance and dedication, the luminous trail they leave behind causes pleasant admiration. Thera are plenty of examples of human beings, who, in the course of time, have made unforgettable achievements with which they have conquered the glory. Nevertheless, it is very sad to leaf through this book about someone very close that also deserves to reach posterity and getting to the first blank page after having turned numerous written pages. The recent death of Dr. José López Sánchez has left the iciest empty space among his colleagues and disciples, and the grief of an irreparable and regrettable loss in the institutions where he worked. Overwhelmed by the painful impression caused by his death , the author of this paper tries to approach his work as a publicist and biblographer, as well as his contributions, paying a modest homage to his memory from the perspective of the information sciences
