^les^aFundamento: La hipertensión arterial constituye uno de los grandes retos de la medicina moderna por su extraordinaria prevalencia. Objetivo: Identificar algunos factores relacionados con la no adherencia al tratamiento antihipertensivo. Método: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal en pacientes de los consultorios del médico de la familia 25, 26 y 67 del policlínico «Tula Aguilera», de la ciudad de Camagüey entre enero y julio de 2007. El universo estuvo representado por el total de pacientes que no cumplieron o cumplieron parcialmente el tratamiento médico antihipertensivo de acuerdo con las orientaciones médicas (230); identificados durante las acciones de salud del Equipo Básico de Salud. Resultados: Se encontró que el sexo masculino adhirió menos (71,73%) que el femenino con (28,27%), que a mayor escolaridad menor adherencia (66,95%), al igual que la soledad con (63,91%), los pacientes no adherentes presentaron más complicaciones, la terapia combinada (60%) dificultó la adherencia y la subvaloración de la enfermedad (63,04%) fue el factor psicológico más determinante de la no adherencia. Conclusiones: Se logró demostrar que factores como el sexo masculino, la escolaridad, la soledad, las terapias combinadas, la subvaloración de la enfermedad indujeron a la no adherencia del tratamiento antihipertensivo.^len^aBackground: High blood pressure constitutes one of the great challeges of the modern medicine for its extraordinary prevalence. Objective: To identify some factors related to the no adherence to the antihypertensive treatment. Method: A cross-sectional descriptive study in patients of the doctor's offices 25, 26 and 67 was performed at «Tula Aguilera» polyclinic, of Camagüey city from January to July 2007. Results: It was found that male sex adhered less (71, 73%) than the female one with (28,27%), that to greater education smaller adhesion (66,95%), just like the solitude with (63,91%), no adherent patients presented more complications, the combined therapy (60%) hampered the adhesion and the disease subevaluation (63,04%) was the psychological factor more determinant to the no adherence. Conclusions: It was achieved to show that factors as male sex, education, solitude, combined therapies, disease subevaluation induced to the no adherence of the antihypertensive treatment.
