The contributions around the theme of science and technology are at the moment, important referents for the improvement of teaching-learning processes at all school levels. This study shows the importance of envisioning teaching from the science and technology approach from Mode 2 of knowledge production as a pedagogical model based on Science, Technology and Society (CTS), recognized by experts due to the influence that has on school improvement. The role of the teacher as a mediator plays a fundamental role in the development of potential in schoolchildren and, in turn, the processes that are carried out within educational institutions, impact the social environment. Methodologies and dynamics carried out in the classroom not only stay with the students, but also involve the parents, by integrating themselves into the school's activities, supporting not only the learning of their children, but also benefiting from those lessons learned at personal level. The present article aims to reflect on the use of Mode 2 of knowledge production as a pedagogical model that benefits the development of reading skills in the primary school.
