CONSUEGRA COGLE, Liana    PEREZ GONZALEZ, Anabel. Nursing care process in a patient with meningioma. Clinical case report. []. , 18, 85, pp. 60-65.   02--2022. ISSN 1990-8644.

This clinical case study aims to describe nursing care in patients with grade I meningioma. The methodological approach used to carry out the research was based on the documentary research strategy of cases with this type of tumor. Results: meningioma is a kind of benign cranial tumor, which is among the most frequent; It comes from cells of the brain coverings and although it does not usually grow inside it, it tends to compress it. The most frequent symptoms respond to the size and location of the tumor masses, and include visual disturbances, headaches, loss of hearing, memory and/or smell, seizures, weakness in the lower and upper limbs, and aphasia. The treatment of choice is surgery. Nursing care was oriented towards the specific needs of the patient, such as pain management, the risk of falls and the improvement of knowledge about the state of health. Conclusions: Nursing care in grade I meningioma must be based on the pathophysiology, epidemiology, complications and medical therapy, leading to a better approach from the patient's arrival at the emergency services.
