Abstract
GALLEGO LANDERA, Yandi; LEON VILTRE, Lesyani; QUINTANA DE BASTERRA, Grettel and LARA LEON, David. Review of current controllers for LVRT conditions in a grid-connected photovoltaic system. Energética [online]. 2022, vol.43, n.2, pp. 47-59. Epub July 11, 2022. ISSN 1815-5901.
Solar energy remains one of the best renewable energy options available, as it is abundant, clean and reliable. Due to the susceptibility of the PV system to grid failure, conventionally, the PV inverter would shut down. However, many countries have implemented grid codes to ensure and regulate the operation of photovoltaic systems during grid failures. Modern technologies have equipped PV inverters with Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT) capability. This document discusses current controllers for current injection under LVRT conditions. These controllers have been classified into two main categories: linear controllers and nonlinear current controls. In addition, a comparative analysis has been presented, discussing the advantages and disadvantages of these control schemes.
