ROMERO ORTEGA, Armando y SANZ CABRERA, Teresa. Urgent Need for Future Preschool Teachers to Be Given a Better Research Training. The Salesian Polytechnic University of Ecuador as a Case Study. Rev. Cubana Edu. Superior [online]. 2016, vol.35, n.3, pp. 73-87. ISSN 0257-4314.
In view of new social demands and advanced education theories more strongly requiring teachers with sound training, syllabuses must be changed for degree courses to be more socially useful. In this context, there is an urgent need for future preschool teachers to be given a better research training. Examining how this training is approached and given to students doing a degree in early childhood education can contribute to the preparation of improved syllabuses, especially in the case of Ecuador where higher education is going through a transitional period. This paper presents the main results of a diagnosis made to research training given to early childhood education students at the Salesian Polytechnic University of Quito, Ecuador.
