ORDONEZ JARA, Marco Vinicio y TORRES MIRANDA, Teresa. Peer Tutoring Model as an Alternative to Student Training under a Quota System at the Salesian Polytechnic University, Cuenca Campus, Ecuador. Rev. Cubana Edu. Superior [online]. 2018, vol.37, n.3 ISSN 0257-4314.
The access to higher education is a subject that is constantly on professionals’ lips, particularly the ones from Latin America. Lots of steps are being taken to provide access to higher education to everybody. This paper examines another problem, i.e. that having been studying at universities, students just drop out. It presents peer tutoring in the Salesian style as a solution to this problem, basing it on the sociological, philosophical, and technological background of peer tutoring. Experiences gained show that peer tutoring permits historically neglected and excluded students from the Salesian Polytechnic University to be included, not drop out, and complete their studies.
Palabras clave : tutoring; peer tutoring; not dropping out; preventive system.
