RUIZ MUNOZ, Nicoleska Llicel; ILLESCA PRETTY, Mónica y GONZALEZ OSORIO, Luis. Quality of Life Perceived by Masters while They Were Doing their Master’s Degree. Rev. Cubana Edu. Superior [online]. 2020, vol.39, n.2 Epub 01-Ago-2020. ISSN 0257-4314.
This paper is aimed at showing how masters perceived their quality of life while they were doing their master’s degree. For this, a qualitative study was conducted. An intentional non-probabilistic sampling of 20 masters, taken after they signed an informed consent form, was interviewed in-depth to obtain detailed information which was analyzed through data reduction. Expert opinions and investigator triangulation were used. The Graduate Studies Committee authorized to consider the ethical aspect. Six indicators were used - «Meaning of quality of life», «Private life», «Emotional expression», «Perceived health», «Perceived safety», and «Productivity». Participants perceived quality of life partly positively, describing the time when they were doing their master’s degree as an enriching experience. However, they also stated that they didn’t have enough time to spend with their families and friends, and that they were under a lot of stress when they were writing their theses.
