Resumen

The article aims to evaluate the optional/elective Audiovisual and Migration, emphasizing the transdisciplinary approach demanded by current times. From the methodological point of view, it starts from the professional experience of the authors in university teaching. A deep methodological work was carried out, both in the program of the subject and in the contents and forms of teaching it. In addition, basic documents of the Cuban Ministry of Higher Education related to the improvement of the so-called New University are analyzed. The conclusions of the study point to: the increase of the interrelation between the University in Cuba and other social institutions; the detection of problems associated with the instrumental and memory training that students have inherited at lower levels of education, and at the higher level itself; the need to reinforce the methodological work of each teacher; and the emphasis on the transdisciplinary approach, in order to achieve a comprehensive training of the student.
