In the last four decades, the problems of higher education in Cuba and in the Latin American region found in the Cuban Journal of Higher Education, from the Center for the Improvement of Higher Education (CEPES), a way of dissemination, analysis and dialogue between researchers, teachers and officials, recording in its pages the contributions of theoretical references that in specific circumstances and contexts, contribute to providing practical solutions and developing Educational Sciences for this level. The objective of the article is to reveal the contribution of the CEPES community to the subject of university education, considering the magazine as the informative space from its foundation to the present, for which tools from bibliometric studies were used, which facilitate the establishment of comparative parameters within of the different moments or periods of a scientific journal, integrated with assessments of the scientific community and the context.
