ESCALONA, Evelín. Health, work and social development relation: a particular view in education workers. Rev Cubana Salud Pública [online]. 2006, vol.32, n.1, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-3127.
This paper is aimed at making a theoretical reflection and at characterizing the relation between health, work and social development, making emphasis on the education workers in the Venezuelan context. We can say that there is a close link between the working conditions and the living conditions and that the model of economic development that has prevailed in the globalized world has brougth about technological transformations in diverse fields, generating capital concentration, more poverty, unemployment, flexibilization and worsening of work, and a very negative impact on environment and workers' health. The educators do not escape from this situation. It is necessary to improve the working conditions, to increase the training level of professors, and to rise the educational level of the peoples as part of the strategies to attain social development. Finally, it is necessary to advance towards a more human model of development that gives priority to the dignified work and health, that encourages the development of capacities and human potentialities, that promotes solidarity and well-beign among the nations, and that protects the environment in a comprehensive way for future generations
