Resumen
IGLESIA, Aleika et al. RELATIONSHIP OF THE FUNCTIONALITY OF XYLEM BUNDLES AND THE PRESENCE OF Leifsonia xyli subsp. xyli. Rev. Protección Veg. [online]. 2007, vol.22, n.1, pp. 65-65. ISSN 2224-4697.
The existent relationship between the functional bundles and their colonization by the bacterium was evaluated. The methods Tissue blot enzyme immunoassay (TBEIA) and stain transpiration were the methods used (STM). The varieties that presented a more severe bacterial colonization had also higher percentages of non-functional bundles. There was a high correspondence (R2 = 0.92), which allowed to affirm that there was a close relationship between the non-functionality of the xylem bundles and the presence of Leifsonia xyli subsp. xyli. The STM could be used in order to evaluate the varietal resistance against the disease.
Palabras clave : Leifsonia xyli subp. xyli; ratoon stunting disease; TBEIA; identification.
