Resumen

LAUREIRO TOLEDO, Tirso; HERNANDEZ MOORE, Elizabeth; BUENO RODRIGUEZ, José Carlos  y  REGUERO MUNOZ, José Luis. Outpatient mayor surgery in the pediatric patient. 1994-96. AMC [online]. 1998, vol.2, n.1, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1025-0255.

The results of three years-work: from 1994 to 1996 in the pediatric outpatient major surgery, are presented. During these years 1312 patients were operated on. They represented 69,3% out of the total of elective operations from the surgery service in this same period of time. Seventy-five percent of the operated patients corresponded to masculine sex and the predominant age group was that of 1 to 4 years-old. Bronchial asthma was the associated disease found with more frequency of occurrence. The inguinal herniorrhaphy was the operation performed on the great majority of patients. The 3,12% of the operated patients had complications in the post-operatory period, which, with the exception of a patient, were mild. There was not mortality. It was obtained a good acceptance of the method in the 98,0% of relatives.
