A bibliographic review about chondromalacia of patella was performed. The objective of this work is to update this topic in many parameters, such as: etiology, classification, clinical and radiological diagnosis, diagnosis and arthroscopic treatment as well as complications that may appear by this method. The importance of this study is that it allows an arthroscopic approach to this pathology which constitute a very important cause of the painful syndrome anterior of patella.
