A cross-section and descriptive study was conducted at the M. Ascunce General Hospital, City of Camagüey, to asses the clinical and histopathologic faces of glomerulopathies during a five-year period (1998-2003). The study involved renal during biopsies from 129 patients. Variables like age, sex, race, proteinuria content, hematuria content, and high blood pressure were considered together with creatinine content in blood. Glomerular diseases prevailed among people aged 30-40 (31%) but no static’s of gender prevalence arose. White patients prevailed (70, i.e, 54, 27 %). 95 patients (73, 64 %) tested < 3 gm proteinuria per day, 92 patients (71, 31 %) tested > 3 gm proteinuria per day, and 84 patients (61, 11 %) tested hematuria presence. Proliferative mesangial glomerulonephritis was diagnosed in 39 cases (30, 27 %).
