FAVIER TORRES, María Agustina; CHI CEBALLOS, Mabel; DEHESA GONZALEZ, Liana María y VERANES DUTIL, Madeleivis. Effects of climate change on health. Rev. inf. cient. [online]. 2019, vol.98, n.2, pp. 272-282. ISSN 1028-9933.
Introduction:
climate is a statistical description of weather in terms of the mean values and the variability of the magnitudes. Global environmental change is the result of the synergistic effect of human activities and the alteration of the fluid systems of the planet (atmosphere and hydrosphere), where what is perceived is climate change.
Objective:
to describe the effects of climate change on health.
Method:
a literature review was carried out through the consultation of studies of different authors, available in the Virtual Health Library and on the website of the Pan American Health Organization and the World Health Organization, where synthesis was made and analysis of the most relevant data at the discretion of the authors.
Results:
the effects of gas emissions, climate, heat waves, disasters, diseases transmitted by food and water, as well as pathologies transmitted by vectors were described.
Conclusions:
climate change represents the main threat to global health in the 21st century, due to the multiple effects it has caused.
