DIAZ LLANES, Guillermo; ALONSO GONZALEZ, Rebeca y BAYARRE VEA, Héctor. Factores de riesgo de insatisfacción con la vida en mujeres de edad mediana. Rev Cubana Hig Epidemiol [online]. 2002, vol.40, n.3, pp. 222-241. ISSN 1561-3003.
Life satisfaction, a cognitive component of the subjective well-being is the topic of this analytical case-control study aimed at identifying some risk factors of life unsatisfaction in 600 women selected by simple randomized sampling at "Cristóbal Labra" polyclinic in "La Lisa" municipality, during the first semester of 1999. The ISP RELEBA (Cuban instrument to measure life satisfaction among middle-aged women) was applied to the participants, as well as a survey of presumed risk factors for life unsatisfaction that was evaluated by 15 experts. The information processing included univariate statistical methods (Chi square test and the correlation coefficients of Pearson, Phi and V of Cramer) and the multiple logistic regression with dichotomic response as a multivariate method. It was proved that every change at a higher educational level increased the risk for life unsatisfaction 1.5 times. Women referring job unsatisfaction showed 5.7 times more risk for life unsatisfaction than those without that condition. The presence of feelings of loneliness rose the unsatisfaction risk 1.8 times.
