The universe was formed by 135 and the sample by 78, selected through a non-probabilistic intentional sampling. To obtain the information, the EORTC QLQ-C30 questionnaire (Version 3) of the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life was applied.

Results: women predominantly evaluated their cognitive function (87,18 %), activities of daily living (79,49 %) and physical function (62,82 %) as good; a statistically significant association of these variables with the stage at diagnosis was demonstrated. None evaluated their quality of life related to symptoms well.

Conclusions:

most women with breast cancer five years after their diagnosis and treatment assess quality of life related to regular symptoms. Diagnosis in advanced stages of the disease reduces the quality of life of women.
