In October 2015, there it was 90 years from the decease of a doctor who, together with Carlos J. Finlay, was recognized as one of the biggest figures of Cuban medicine. Juan Guiteras Gener was a tenacious fighter for the Camagueyan scientist to become from “the forgotten Pasteur of the American continent” into the remembered “Humankind benefactor”. Son of a family of Cuban nationality and culture founders, and one of the most universal offspring of Matanzas , he was an example of scientist, of integrity, tolerance, humbleness and austerity, of love to true and justice. The aim of this article was highlighting his personality in that significant date.
