Resumen
GUTIERREZ ESCOBAR, Miriam et al. New Technological Teaching Aids vs. Teacher’s Training to Use Them. Medisur [online]. 2013, vol.11, n.2, pp. 167-175. ISSN 1727-897X.
Teaching aids are one of the components of the teaching process that encourages scientific view of the world and students’ assimilation of knowledge. They have been used since the origins of education to the present day. However, they have not remained static. They have evolved with the scientific and technological advances instead. The objective of this study is to assess the development of such tools in relation to teachers’ training to use them. A literature review showed that there are gaps in the teachers’ knowledge on how to use teaching resources based on Information Technologies. Consequently, teachers’ training on these new technologies is vital, given their increasingly widespread application in education in general, and especially, in teaching aids.
