It is undeniable that reading continues to be an instrument to erect life scenarios that provide more opportunities to be happy because there would be no information society without reading, hence the tremendous importance and need to involve the family in this task as the. The role of adults fundamentally that of parents is decisive, since the creation of favorable environments for the motivation of reading. This work responds to a professional and investigative experience, related to the preparation of the family to promote reading from the application of a diagnosis which allowed to verify the potentialities and shortcomings, which determined the need for a proposal of activities in this sense. The presentation of actions in its structure includes the contribution of knowledge on how to read, what to read and where to read is the most significant contribution of this article.
