Resumen

This research was carried out with the objective of determining the influence of the main parameters (pressure, temperature and reagent concentration) on the recovery of the nickel present in the residual liquor from the nickel carbonate sedimentation process. This element is recovered by applying the precipitation process in a tubular piston flow reactor at bench scale, with a view to the decrease the precipitating agent (ammonium hydrogen sulfide) and to obtain the maximum recovery of nickel in form of sulfide. For the experimentation, the full factorial method at two levels was used and the obtained statistical equation, that characterized the process, shows the influence of the independent variables, in descending order pressure, temperature and reagent concentration. Nickel is recovered over 97 %, reducing the pollutant load to the environment. Calculations show that experimental treatment is technically viable and economically feasible.
