Objective:
In pandemic conditions, family digital literacy is actually a social and educational need. This paper aims at exploring the level of digital literacy of parents of basic education children of Bolivia Benitez school at Machala City during the school term 2020-2021.
Methods:
After completing the construction of a theoretical framework, the authoresses assess digital literacy in four groups of subjects (education executives, teacher, parents and ICTs experts).
Results:
The findings not only characterized the level of digital literacy of parents according to age groups, but outlined the importance of their permanent updating in topics of educational technology as well. ICTs experts suggest that digital information of parents should be a question of educational institution concern.
Conclusions:
To face the challenge of continuing pandemic conditions Educational institutions should pay attention to family digital literacy by suggesting activities to develop parents corresponding skills.
