The objective of this work was to design an environmental education program in order to promote awareness on climate change, its impacts and possible mitigation and adaptation which contribute to the awareness and sensitization of the population. For processing a diagnosis of training needs in relation to this environmental problem in both students and residents of communities addressed was performed. This research was conducted under the positivist paradigm descriptive level, the design was not experimental, with a type of field research and the implementation of the survey as a technique. Little knowledge and information management on this environmental problem, ignorance of its causes and consequences and poor implementation of actions and measures to adapt and mitigate climate change was evident. A program of environmental education for students of primary, secondary and residents of communities was developed. The program includes the development of five activities: 1) the environment, climate and climate change, 2) causes of climate change, 3) consequences of climate change, 4) solutions to climate change and 5) climate festival. After the implementation of the activities was evident in participants a change of attitude on climate change, due to the acquired knowledge, understanding of the serious problems caused in the environment and the health of living beings and the provision and interest in implementing measures and develop actions for climate.
