The identification and empowerment of the development of students with academic talent constitutes a challenge for contemporary Psychology and Pedagogy; at present, there is a consensus on the need for educational institutions to put into practice strategies that allow each student to offer the attention they demand, in accordance with their potential and needs. Colombia has significantly legislated the right of talented students to receive a relevant and quality education. The objective of this article is to reflect on the importance of offering adequate educational attention to students with academic talent, considerations regarding academic talent are presented based on the criteria of different authors and the essential elements that must be taken into account are addressed during the educational attention to said students.
