LIMACHE SANDOVAL, Elmer; CHOQUE APAZA, Vidal y PIAGGO CANIVILLO, Miguel Alexis. Program proposal for the optimization of water resources in arid zones of Tacna, Peru. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2021, vol.13, n.4, pp. 521-535. Epub 02-Ago-2021. ISSN 2218-3620.
Tacna is a region with an arid climate in the extreme south of Peru with three river basins corresponding to the Caplina, Sama and Locumba that make up an area that is particularly scarce in water availability, from which arises the need to propose the optimization of the water resource. The research makes a diagnosis of the water resource problem in the area using various techniques such as documentary review from public and private documents and reports related to the water problem in the region and participant observation through field work. The work detects the main problems in the rational use of the resource and proposes 11 water resource optimization programs in Tacna with projects that will must be executed in the short, medium and long term.
