TTITO-VILCA, Sara Agripina et al. Scientific production of the Teachers of the Faculty of Education of a Public University in the Peruvian Amazon. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2023, vol.15, n.4, pp. 225-232. Epub 30-Ago-2023. ISSN 2218-3620.
At present, scientific production has become one of the activities inherent to university teaching, since it has a relevant role in the generation of knowledge and the creation of new technologies to provide alternative solutions to problems that affect the society. In this sense, the objective of the present study was the analysis of the scientific production of the teachers of the Faculty of Education of a public university in the Peruvian Amazon. Work was carried out within the framework of a quantitative approach of a bibliometric, retrospective and descriptive type. The scientific production indexed in the Scopus, Web of Science and Scielo databases of 108 teachers belonging to the Faculty of Education and their respective professional careers: Education, Nursing and Law was evaluated. The results indicate that only 13.9% of all teachers made at least one publication in the aforementioned databases. On the other hand, the documents analyzed and indexed were characterized by being original articles, they were written in Spanish and were published mainly in Peruvian, Cuban, Venezuelan, Bolivian and Ecuadorian journals. It was concluded that the scientific production of the teachers of the Faculty of Education of a public university in the Peruvian Amazon in the Scopus, Web of Science and Scielo databases was low. For this reason, it would be important for universities to formulate policies aimed at developing the research skills of their professors and subsidizing translation costs and payment for the processing of articles.
