Introduction.
The objective is to model the complexity of the educational process in higher education in the face of the effects of COVID-19.
Methods.
Supported by the dialectical-materialist conception for the analysis of social processes, among which are analysis and criticism of sources (it integrates, as procedures, the methods of logical thought: induction-deduction, analysis-synthesis and the transition from the abstract to the concrete), the hermeneutic-dialectical method, and modeling, from the systemic-structural-functional approach; in addition, with the use of triangulation of data as a methodological procedure, methods, and theories.
Results and Discussion
. Theoretical modeling of the complexity of the educational process in higher education is proposed in the face of the effects of COVID-19, structured in three general processes that are integrated and interact with each other: Transformation of educational management, Scientific-investigative renewal of the educational process, and Generalization of the university culture, which lead to the Contextuality of the educational process in the face of the effects of COVID-19 as a superior quality. It was concluded that the educational process in the current global epidemiological situation presents a complex character, given by the multi-variety and multidimensionality of conflicts inherent in the development of society, marked by the unpredictability of the pandemic, leading to the transition to new conceptions in higher education that allow for a multifactorial and renovating approach, with the application of hybrid models, the support of various technological supports, and pedagogical innovation.
