This paper analyzes the identification of learning needs as the core of curricular design of postgraduate education and its consideration as a type of educational research work on the basis of investigation-action. The different educational needs and the ways of determining them are classified. Learning needs and their system approach are studied from a conceptual viewpoint on the basis of health situation, the working process and the individual deficiencies of professionals. A methodology for a comprehensive approach to this subject is assessed.
