Resumen

MARTINEZ TRUJILLO, Nelcy. Postgraduate formation in public health for interdisciplinary work in nursing. Educ Med Super [online]. 2015, vol.29, n.3, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-2902.

Public health is an interdisciplinary field that integrates the organized efforts of the communities to attain their health goals. The postgraduate education based on this discipline is one of the routes for development of capabilities in the application of the interdisciplinary approach. A descriptive study was conducted to identify the application of the said approach by nursing professionals in the preparation of their master's degree theses in the public health. The analysis units were the final theses from five master's degree programs of the National School of Public Health. The study period was January 2000 through September 2014 covering the three rounds of the aforementioned academic formation. The study variables were curriculum, number of theses (graduates), studied topics and integrated disciplines. The results showed the integration of several disciplines into the development of research studies that were described in the master's degree theses. It was concluded that these formations represent an initial pathway for the materialization of interdisciplinary performance on the part of nursing professionals.

Palabras clave : interdisciplinarity; nursing; academic formations.
