In this paper, it is presented a methodology for assessing the cultural elements that influence the group effectiveness of working teams in organizations that provide scientific-technological services. The conceptual basis and support processes that facilitated its development, emerged from the analysis of different theoretical and methodological models, reflected in the scientific literature and the practical experience in organizations from the province of Matanzas. Qualitative and quantitative methods were used in the framework of a longitudinal study, which helped to confirm the changes in the variables analyzed. The results enabled to identify the cultural aspects that affect negatively the effectiveness of the group and the design of the strategies for the improvement derived from an intervention program. The designed tool is feasible to implement for all organizations that promote teamwork as a distinct value of their organizational culture.
