In this article the role of the teacher in the evaluation of learning is discussed, identifying the importance of evaluation to understand and improve the learning of students and teaching and learning practices that developed in school institutions. Reference is made to the functions that the evaluation should consider as a permanent and participatory process that enriches those who participate in it, as well as the types of evaluations that must be implemented to be a formative experience for students, highlighting the role of the teacher. Based on this, the role of the teacher is approached placing us in one of the levels of basic education in Mexico, considered one of the pillars on which learning is based and the future development of human being, this is preschool education, in which it is detected the role that has been assigned to the educators in the evaluation according to the prescribed curriculum, contrasting it with what happens when taking it into action. The conclusions are presented in two planes, those referred to the role of any teacher regarding the evaluation of learning and those concerning the role of educators and what is needed to be realized in practice.
