At present, the economic training of engineers is a necessity for the economic development of the country, which favors a more effective management in the institutions. This article deals with the topic of economic education in mechanical engineering students. The objective was to determine essential aspects to take into account for the design of a system of tasks that contributes to the economic formation of these learners having as a principle the linking of theory with practice. It was based on a diagnosis about training in aspects of economics and finance, where there were insufficiencies that from this point of view had students, teachers and graduates of this career. For this, interviews were conducted and documents were reviewed. With the results of this research was intended to enunciate essential aspects to consider when forming a system of tasks that is linked to the Integrative Discipline in the career of Mechanical Engineering, as a didactic way that allows students to solve real professional problems. The report is exposed in parts where some theoretical aspects are discussed about the analysis and interpretation of the financial statements, the results of the diagnosis and the proposal.
