BETANCOURT HERRERA, Idalmis; ABREUS MORA, Jorge Luis; JUANES GIRAUD, Blas Yoel  y  GONZALEZ CURBELO, Vivian Bárbara. Physical exercises to contribute to the development of physical coordination in older adults. Conrado [online]. 2020, vol.16, n.77, pp. 55-64.  Epub 02-Dic-2020. ISSN 1990-8644.

The research was carried out with the elderly of the Cienfuegos Grandparents Love and Hope House with the aim of proposing a proposal of physical exercises to improve their physical coordination. This proposal was supported by actions of cardiovascular flexibility, strength and endurance. An explanatory type of study was assumed and was based on a pre-experimental pretest-posttest design for a single group in which 16 older adults participated, constituting the universe of the research. Empirical methods such as document analysis, survey, measurement, and observation were used. The Student's t-test was used as a statistical technique to assess the significant difference between different moments of the investigation. To test the hypotheses, it was determined with the significance level (0.05). The effectiveness of the physical exercises was evaluated by means of the statistical methods and techniques used, which made it possible to demonstrate a marked improvement in terms of performing physical exercises with simple and complex coordination, providing the older adult with adequate physical and functional performance.

Palabras clave : Older adult; physical exercise; physical coordination.
