Resumen

MORALES COBOS, Susy; PAREDES MORALES, María Gracia  y  VILLA ASTUDILLO, Ronald Alexander. Use of the virtual university library as a learning strategy for architecture students at the University of Guayaquil. Conrado [online]. 2021, vol.17, n.80, pp. 339-347.  Epub 02-Jun-2021. ISSN 1990-8644.

The research presented the problems that develop in digital libraries, as they are little or badly used by students and teachers. Three objectives were raised, to determine the actuality of the libraries in their use; define the attitudes of university teachers towards library roles and policy concepts related to university library management that promote student learning; and recognizing support for student learning. The study was carried out first by looking for bibliography that talks about the use of the library and the strategies that are being developed so that the student uses the library properly, finding that the same problem occurs in other countries in grades that, although they are not high, are worrying in addition, the student prefers to go to investigate the Academic Google, even guided by the teachers themselves, who do not make exhaustive use of the libraries either. As a second phase, a quantitative study was made through surveys of 333 students of the first semester of the architecture career of the University of Guayaquil, it was found that the level of instruction to which students apply the use of libraries reached 77, two%. It is concluded that the results merit intervention with strategies, the counting of minutes of reading online for students and the total development of the subjects were recommended, under books registered in the library and not relegating all the material to internet sources.
