Resumen

This article aims to present the main results yield by the diagnosis and assessment process of the educational guidance`s present situation in Cuba within the non-pedagogical context, regarding the author doctoral thesis. The study was carry out from an embedded design with a dominant model and its structure deals with a multi-design setting in order to satisfy emerging research needs which led to an overall design for the entire investigation. The findings suggest an inadequate comprehension of education-counseling dialectic unit, a contextualize educational guidance is needed in the non-pedagogical university training, and several inadequacies concerning the synonymy between tutoring, teachers guiding function and educational guidance and also related to the limited possibilities offered by current regulations towards the realization of educational guidance at university level. Also, it shown the need of assuming student’s life project as main content of the university training process in a way that transcends the exclusive action of the university professor in order to promote the integral development of the personality of the students. It is concluded that the system of potentialities and insufficiencies represented, allows the modeling of the educational process, with emphasis on non-pedagogical training, as an essential element of comprehensive training.
