RODRIGUEZ AYALA, José Luis; HERNANDO BRAVO-NAVARRO, Wilson y AVILA MEDIAVILLA, Carlos Marcelo. Sedentary behaviors and physical activity levels in high school students. Conrado [online]. 2023, vol.19, n.92, pp. 380-389. Epub 30-Jun-2023. ISSN 1990-8644.
In order for the problem of sedentary lifestyle to arise, a series of factors contribute to it becoming a vehicle for collateral morbidities with serious consequences, only physical activity is capable of balancing metabolic processes and curbing their consequences. Under this criterion, it is intended to analyze the levels of physical activity and sedentary lifestyle of high school students, to establish a baseline on which to work on a prevention plan. For this purpose, an investigation was carried out with 70 students between the ages of 15 and 19 from a fiscomisional educational center to whom the IPAQ Questionnaire was applied, to measure the level of physical activity. The results obtained were compared with anthropometric variables and Spearman's Rho correctional analysis was applied. It was verified that there is no statistically significant evidence that relates the lack of physical activity with sedentary lifestyle in the students of the campus. A plan was proposed to strengthen physical activities to motivate adolescents and strengthen processes, it is concluded that sedentary lifestyle is a factor that is gaining space but that it is possible to mitigate its incidence, for a better quality of life.
