Resumen

MOREANO GRANIZO, Santiago Andrés; ACOSTA ACERO, Viviana Mercy; AVILA TORRES, Mercedes Paula  y  ALVARADO CORDERO, Alberto Leoncio. Perspectives in postgraduate Orthodontics: optimization of dental movement with laser transmission for medical use. Conrado [online]. 2023, vol.19, n.94, pp. 101-108.  Epub 10-Oct-2023. ISSN 1990-8644.

Universities are currently evolving their academic content from the most basic stages with giant steps, and as a result, a series of international trends are being proposed in orthodontic graduate schools on the acceleration of dental movement by means of laser transmission, since reducing orthodontic treatment time has been a challenge for the specialist, given that prolonged treatments increase the risk of root resorption, gingivitis and caries, as well as patient abandonment. The objective of the present study is to analyze the capacity of laser energy transmission through the bone and gingiva to accelerate orthodontic movement, for which the PRISMA methodology was used to identify valid information for this study from May 2017 to May 2022 with no language limit. It was possible to conclude that the transmission of laser energy through the bone and gingiva accelerates dental movement in orthodontics, contributing with therapeutic alternatives to specialists and researchers in modern dentistry, as well as new future research topics with clinical/academic benefit for universities around the world.
