The article exposing the paper of the participation of the social and communitarian actors at the construction of a praxis that integrate the scientific investigation process and its results with the development programs in the mountains. A brief historic review of the relation between science and development in Cuba as from 1959 are accomplished, they highlight goods and guidelines than, in the programmatic documents for the cost-reducing and social development of Cuba, they grant a preponderant paper in this relation; and a characterization of the socioeconomic projects comes true and of varied of the fact-finding projects developed at the municipality's mountains, emphasizing his achievements, limitations and potentialities.
