This paper presents the case of a healthy 46 years-old man, who had been in contact with varicella-affected children. He came to the hospital with typical skin lesions from varicella, acute respiratory distress and coagulation problems. He was treated with acyclovir, intacglobin and mechanical ventilation, but unfortunately he died within 24 hours of his admission to the hospital. It should be underlined that the treatment was applied late and there was no antecedent of previous vaccination. We decided to present this case because complicated varicella is rarely seen in healthy adults.
