ISSN 1561-302X.

The aim of our research work is to study the delay times that occurred in 119 patients who had an infarction in four hospitals of the City of Havana. A survey was administered and obtained data were processed by Excel. The result was that 25% of patients with infarction did not know the characteristics of anginosis, half of them live alone and they go directly to the hospital without going first to the Primary Health Care when pain appears. Patient and pre-hospital care times were longer in "Hermanos Ameijeiras" and "Manuel Fajardo" hospitals and the longest door-needle time was that of the Ameijeiras hospital. The global delay time up to thrombolysis (of the four hospitals) was four times longer than the recommended time in the world literature. Therefore, we suggest that guidelines and strategies should be drawn up to reduce time and improve the quality of the care of patients with infarction.
