We made a clinical and microbiological diagnosis of a Haemophilus influenzae meningoencephalitis in an adult patient. It was underlined that infections in adults by this virus is unfrequent specially in central nervous system both in Cuba and abroad, and rarely found in "Dr. Luis Díaz Soto" Higher Institute of Military Medicine. We fully identified the causative agent that was a II biotype B serotype Haemophilus influenzae strain sensitive to third generation cephalosporines and resistant to ampicilline and chloranphenicol.
