Resumen

NODARSE HERNANDEZ, Rafael. Translocación bacteriana: enfoque microbiológico. Rev Cub Med Mil [online]. 2000, vol.29, n.3, pp. 199-205. ISSN 1561-3046.

A literature review on bacterial translocation was made, given the importance of this event. This updating was particularly focused on this topic from the microbiological viewpoint. Information on mechanisms by which the bacterial translocation occurs and the conditions favouring it was provided. The methods that the Microbiology Laboratory uses to demonstrate both the translocated bacteria and their products were also described. Advantages of the methods capable of measuring the presence of bacterial products over the culture methods were stated. In culture methods, the value of samples taken from tissues, mainly mesenteric lymphatic ganglium was underlined. It was observed that the main translocated bacteria were Gram-negative bacteria of the family Enterobacteriaceae and Gram-positive enterococci.
