Resumen

GUERRERO ABREU, Jacqueline et al. Cardiovascular neurovegetative evaluation ("neuromega") in personnel exposed to electromagnetic radiations (non-ionizing radiations). Rev Cub Med Mil [online]. 2006, vol.35, n.3, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-3046.

The "neuromega" system allows, among other things, the analysis of R-R intervals of QRST complex in electrocardiogram by using computerized electrocardiographic records in an automated way. The main tools of this system are sequential and non-sequential histograms of cardiac intervals and the analysis of various descriptive indexes of these interval distributions. The objective of the present paper is to evaluate the cardiovacular neurovegetative activity through the "neuromega" system in personnel exposed to electromagnetic radiations and compare it with that of a control group. Alterations as maximum path or amplitude of dispersion that mainly depends on vagus nerves activity, and the mode amplitude, which reflects the effect of the stabilizing influence of central regulation on heart rate, are correlated with vegetative homeostasis and cardiac automatism, being both evaluators of basal neurovegetative balance which was predominantly parasympathetic in this study.

Palabras clave : Electromagnetic radiations, "neuromega" system; cardiovascular sympathetic; parasympathetic activity.
